Lovely views at Ty Uchaf

Ty Uchaf – High House – is a modern house commanding stunning views over the Llýn Peninsula and Cardigan Bay to the mountains of Snowdonia. From the huge picture windows in the sitting room or the wide balcony there is, in the words of one frequent visitor, ‘always something to watch on land or sea, whatever the weather’.

Exceptionally comfortable and spacious accommodation for 8 combines with original artwork and locally commissioned furniture to make an inviting base for a very special holiday. The house is perfect for two families, groups of friends or even a couple on their own, with main living accommodation on the first floor.

The safe golden sands of Abersoch Beach (Blue Flag) are a short walk away, where a beach hut available for rent extends the enjoyment of the watersports, sailing, fishing and swimming for which Abersoch is renowned. Other beautiful beaches for surfing, kite surfing and walking are close by, with perhaps a glimpse of dolphins from the shore or a boat trip. There are 18 hole golf courses at Abersoch, Nefyn and Pwllheli, horse riding, archery, clay pigeon shooting, and go karting close by.

The Porth Tocyn hotel restaurant is five minutes along the lane, or dine in style at Michelin starred Plas Bodegroes near Pwllheli. Abersoch, 2m away, has supermarkets, a butcher, delicatessen, pharmacy, several restaurants, pubs, gift and fashion shops.

The Llýn peninsula is largely unspoilt, an area of winding lanes and wild flowers, with much of its Heritage Coastline falling within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Llýn Long Distance Coastal Path allows exploration of the two very different coasts, taking in the Ty Coch a smugglers pub on the beach of the North Coast. There are a number of lovely walks straight from the house onto National Trust land and historic houses and castles not far away. Portmeirion, Clough Ellis’s fantasy Italianate village, is within an easy drive at Porthmadog where you can take a trip on one of the local small tourist trains.
